| Enjoy the Journey
The Journey:
Crossroads, tunnels, wrong turns are all part of Life. When we accept that fact, life becomes full of possibility.
Think of life like a train journey where it starts off very exciting, we look forward to our destination but parts of the journey can become mundane, a bit stale and even a bit boring. We chug along, feel stuck, “go off the rails” or become derailed, even go through tunnels when we see no light but we should trust the process and suffer the darkness knowing it is only until we get “into the light”.
We should relax and enjoy the scenery. After all the stops and starts of the journey, even when we arrive at our destination, we start off on another journey. The only way to stop travelling is to die. Our trip never ends. It stops and starts all our life.
Nothing in life is permanent, it’s transitory. Once we can embrace this concept, it is all smooth travelling.
Making Decisions:
Decisions are a constant in our lives. We make small and large ones constantly. The smaller ones we don’t think about or even notice. Larger ones however can be difficult because we are afraid of making a mistake. This is caused by lack of faith in self judgement. All we can do is act and trust the rest.
It is almost better to make the wrong decision than to keep sitting on the fence. Indecision is one of the most stressful things we can undergo.
Some of the travelling decisions are to do with how we want to travel – first class, economy, on a donkey, smooth terrain, rough road, pressured and rushed or enjoying the interesting scenery and experiences along the way?
Let this be your guiding principle as you journey – ask yourself how or what would give you the most pleasurable trip. Then act accordingly.
Maxine says, “Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.”
Make sure your life is a rich smorgasbord, full of a variety of tastes, people, choices and activities that you LOVE!
Notice the Signposts:
There is no travel without direction and no direction without a guide. Whether you use an internal compass, use your intellect or be guided by outside influences, we can all benefit from the many invisible signs that surround us.
They are only invisible because we neglect to notice them or prefer not to ask for directions, or perhaps not even listening to advice. You might be distracted by other stuff going on in your life.
In fact, there is help everywhere. Life is full of coincidences and synchronicity and it is up to us to start noticing them.
The most revealing point of anyone’s life is the choices we make. Think back to all the important events in your life and think how different your life would have been. And yet, we are all exactly where we are meant to be, even when the going gets rough.
Our Baggage:
What kind of baggage do we carry on our journey? Some of our suitcases are packed with a lot of emotional baggage which is heavy and undesirable. It makes our journey slower and tougher.
So in order to travel lighter, we need to shed our negative beliefs and conditioning as pure spiritual love cannot operate under all that weight.
Kinds of Travel:
We take all kinds of journey in a lifetime.
Physical: – family, career, relationships, holidays, trips, relocation
Emotional: – falling in love, the pain of loss, the adventure of parenting, successes and failures
Psychological: –self-discovery, remembering, forgetting, forgiveness, release, peace and acceptance.
Mental: studying experimenting, reading, writing, working, ideas, discussion, knowledge.
Financial: saving, spending, buying, debt, tax, mortgage, credit cards, materialism.
Material: birth, illnesses, exercise, weight loss, weight gain, ageing, death.
Anything that begins and moves towards a conclusion is a journey. Some will be enjoyable, some will be painful but it will all be good.
Be present in your own life, in your relationships, work and all that you do. Travel with delight, participate, enjoy, notice all the signs, see with the eyes of your inner child, follow your dreams, expect miracles, trust and believe.
Travel on the wings of all possibility. |
